Mission Statement We are training the new generation of yoga teachers, coming from a post-lineage perspective that connects to the True heart of yoga - which is You and in Your heart. We acknowledge all the teachers who came before us, the ancient roots of yoga from the sages of the Indian Subcontinent and the influence of the wisdom cultures and ancient texts and philosophies that have been carried forward through the generations. As the intention of yoga is to both unite and be free from shackles, Heart Root Yogi exists to take yoga into this modern world and fulfill on the intentions of the ancient roots, both from the heart and now shedding what is no longet serving yoga and it’s practitioners: from old misogyny, dogma, caste system segregation and abuses of power. It is time we left those ways behind in favor of true ahimsa, equity and social justice. We aim to make yoga accessible to populations of all colors and backgrounds by deliberate outreach to BIPOC and underserved populations wherever and whenever possible. We are stepping intentionally away from dogmatic lineage lines and into connection to the Self as the root of Your practice and teaching. Many of us have learned and emulated only from the lineages that were available in the previous century, but we are now willing to step out of line, out of the usual or even the current social justice fads, in order to do the right thing to elevate each other. To do the right thing because of our human nature and to elevate each others through elevating ourselves. Purposefully creating space and balance in all our systems, structures and bodies. Not perfection or even symmetry but the space for bodies and people to be and be celebrated exactly who they are. That is the Mission of Heart Root Yogi Teacher Training.
The Training This Heart Root Yogi training is based on a flowing, vinyasa style inspired by the teachings and methodology of Baptiste Yoga (www.baptisteyoga.com).
